Pre-mature Greying of Hair

A head has about 100,000 to 150,000 hair and each hair grows from a sac like structures called follicle. The follicle is nourished by blood & nerve supply in a junction area called ‘papilla’.

Most of the hair problems are the repercussions at follicle level, by causative factors in any of our functional organs.

Graying of hair is the physiological manifestation of old age. However, many individual is seen to develop grey hair during teens and even in childhood. Being a cosmetic problem entirely, it is seen to have a psychological impact on the individuals.

The loss of color is due to gradual fall of the melanin production in the hair bulb. The known causes are:

  • Impaired pigmentation is due to genetics that alter biochemical synthesis of the melanin pigment.
  • Uneven hair surface due to harsh chemicals in the hair shampoo and hair oil.
  • Vitiligo.
  • Alopecia.
  • Chronic diseases.
  • Naevus de pigmentation.
  • Migraine and nutritional deficiencies.


Since the reasons of hair & scalp problems are not mostly into the scalp area most of the external applications are not sufficient alone, to take care of chronic scalp infections.
